Physical activity: a special moment for couples!
31 July, 2023
Ah, the life of a parent! It’s true that balancing parenting and love can sometimes seem like a daunting task, but physical activity can be the key to nourishing your relationship and strengthening your bond with your partner.
In my own journey, I was fortunate to meet my partner on the cross-country team, which facilitated our shared commitment to physical activity, but also the ease of spending (a lot of) time together. Running has become a shared passion, and we encourage each other to take on new challenges and enjoy outings together. The beauty of this dynamic is that we create precious memories while taking care of our physical and mental health.
However, it’s important to note that you don’t need to have a shared passion from the start to enjoy the benefits of physical activity as a couple. Even if you and your partner have never played sports together, that shouldn’t stop you from exploring new activities together. Dare to step out of your comfort zone and try something different, something that intrigues you both.
Maybe you’ll consider taking up an activity you’ve never considered before, like kayaking, paddle boarding, indoor rock climbing, or even dancing. These activities can help you explore new horizons and create deeper connections. Not only will you be engaging physically, but you’ll also be supporting each other throughout the process, strengthening your relationship.
The important thing is to choose an activity that arouses interest and excitement in both partners. This will increase motivation and make the time spent together more enjoyable. Whether you are an adrenaline junkie or prefer more leisurely activities, there are endless possibilities for incorporating physical activity into your life as a couple.
In conclusion, I strongly encourage you to integrate moments of movement as a couple into your life. Whether it is based on a common passion or by exploring new activities together, physical activity can strengthen your relationship, allow you to have fun, laugh and support each other. Take the time to preserve your relationship, because it will have a positive impact on your personal well-being and that of your family. So, what new activity do you think you will try with your partner?
