What's coming to Octave: new features, improvements and upcoming functionality

The team behind Octave never rests! We have plenty of great news to share about what's been improved, what we're working on right now and what's coming in the next few months. Here is a complete overview of how the app is evolving.
Octave Studio: list templates created for you
One of the most exciting new features currently in development is Octave Studio, a platform that will let our team create all kinds of list templates available directly in the app.
Natacha, our magazine writer and content creator, will be dedicating herself to converting our hundreds of printables into ready-to-use interactive lists. But that's not all: we also plan to collaborate with popular family influencers so they can share their menus, schedules and routines directly in Octave. A great project whose details we can't wait to reveal to you!
The free Station plan is now live
You may have noticed: a new free Station plan is now available, and it's much more generous than the free mobile plan. That's completely normal: if you've bought a station, we want you to be able to use it fully, at no additional cost. Check out all the available plans right on our website to find out more.
Recent fixes and improvements
We took advantage of the past few weeks to fix a few bugs that were affecting the everyday experience, including:
- Tasks without a date: they now display correctly.
- Multi-day events: their display has been reworked and improved.
Small, discreet adjustments, but ones that make a real difference to how smoothly the app runs day to day!
What we're working on right now
We're currently in our busiest sprint to date. Here's a preview of the features coming very soon:
- The task list screen by person, as you've seen in our ads.
- Automatic task expiry: a task that isn't completed will automatically be marked “not done” after the time limit you choose.
- Duplicating and postponing tasks, to save even more time!
- Drag and drop, to easily reorganize your tasks, lists and folders.
- A new look for task and event cards, with the option of adding links and photos.
- New list templates ready to use from launch!
And after that? Artificial intelligence is coming!
Once these features are delivered, the team will turn to integrating artificial intelligence into Octave, notably with a chatbot and a voice recorder function. We'll tell you more very soon, but we can already say it's a step that will change the way you interact with the app!
While you wait for the per-person view: our tip of the moment
Eagerly waiting for the new per-person task view? Here's a workaround that works very well in the meantime:
- Add and edit your recurring tasks in your list folders, making sure to give each one a date and a family member.
- Then check your tasks in the time view: Overdue, Today, This Week, Next Week.
- For example, create the plan for routines and chores in your list folders. Every day, the kids just have to click “Today,” select their photo or avatar, and see their personal tasks for the current day.
Simple, effective, and already available!
