Oat and Date Energy Balls

  • 1½ cup rolled oats
  • 1½ cups crunchy peanut butter (or soy butter)
  • ¼ cup hemp seeds
  • 1 cup pitted fresh dates
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • A little water to adjust the texture


  1. In a food processor, grind the oats into a powder.
  2. Add all the ingredients except the chocolate.
  3. Mix until the dough forms a ball with the texture of cookie dough. Adjust the texture with water if it's too dry or with oatmeal if the mixture is too wet.
  4. Place in a bowl and stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Shape into small balls about the size of a tablespoon.

Replace peanut butter with almond butter.
