Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 450 g lean ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 3 cups mushrooms, chopped
- 1 large can (796 ml) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 cup of water
- 3 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper

Preparation
- In a frying pan, heat the olive oil and brown the meat for 2 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked.

Replace ½ cup water with ½ cup red wine.
