Hearty Chicken Soup

A comforting soup perfect for cold fall and winter days, packed with chunks of chicken, lentils and turnips; a nutritious treat that will add warmth to your days!

Freeze for three months.

  • Ingredients

    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 chopped yellow onion
    • 2 celery stalks, chopped
    • 2 large grated carrots
    • 1 cup grated turnip.
    • 2 chicken breasts, diced
    • 1 can of lentils, rinsed and drained
    • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
    • 2 tbsp of your favorite spices
    • 3 cups cold water
    • 1 liter (4 cups) chicken broth
    • Salt and pepper from the mill
  • Preparation

    1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, heat the oil and brown the chicken, onion, and celery for 3 minutes.
    2. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, partially covered, for 30 minutes or until vegetables are cooked.
    3. Place in freezer containers.
