In a home where we want children to develop independently, it is also important to think about how to effectively store objects that are forbidden to them and that could compromise their safety or cause major damage! Mlle Range-tout therefore offers you her advice for keeping all these objects out of the reach of little hands!
Plastic arts products
Ideally, all art supplies should be stored in a tightly closed cupboard that is out of reach of children. Then, sort all of these items by category (paint, crayons, modeling clay, etc.) in clearly labeled, clear bins so that you can easily find them when your children ask for them.
Toxic products and medicines
Rather than storing cleaning products in the drawer or cabinet under the sink as many people are accustomed to, consider putting them in a high cabinet or in the garage to limit access to them for children, for whom these products could be dangerous. Medicines should also be stored up high, preferably in a place free of moisture such as the kitchen or bedroom.
The temptation articles
Among other things, make sure to always store pool toys in a well-closed shed or container to avoid attracting children who could then easily find themselves too close to the water without supervision.
Obviously, when your children are older and are able to understand why certain objects are less easily accessible to them, take a moment to explain the reasons to them so that they are less tempted to have access to them, attracted by the notion of something forbidden.
