Grilled cheese with waffles

  • Ingredients

    • 16 cooked waffles
    • 250 ml (1 cup) cream cheese, at room temperature
    • 500 ml (2 cups) grated cheese
    • 250 ml (1 cup) cooked bacon, crumbled
    • 2 green onions, chopped
    • 60 ml (¼ cup sour cream)
  • Preparation

    1. Place 8 waffles on the work surface.
    2. In a bowl, mix 250 ml (1 cup) of tempered cream cheese and 500 ml (2 cups) of grated cheese.
    3. Divide the cheese mixture between the 8 waffles and spread evenly.
    4. Add 30 ml (2 tbsp) of crumbled cooked bacon and ¼ of chopped green onions on each waffle.
    5. Close with the remaining 8 waffles.
    6. Place in a large airtight container, layered with parchment paper. Keep for 5 days in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer.
    7. When ready to serve, place on the BBQ over medium heat or over the campfire for 3 minutes on each side or until the waffles are golden brown and the cheese melted.
    8. Serve with sour cream.
