Philly cheese style sloppy joe
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. (30ml) olive oil
- ½ chopped yellow onion
- ½ cup (125 mL) chopped button mushrooms
- 450 g (1 lb) beef fondue
- 1 C. 1/2 tsp (5 mL) steak spice
- ¼ cup (60ml) cream cheese
- 1 C. (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper from the mill
- 4 burger buns
Preparation
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat and cook the onion, mushrooms and beef for 5 minutes or until the beef is cooked through.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and cream cheese. Cook another 1 minute.
- Fill the burger buns with this mixture. Eaten hot or cold.
For adventurers:
Add 2 tbsp. (30ml) ketchup along with Worcestershire sauce and cream cheese.
