Mushroom dumplings in brown sauce

Combine ground pork, green onion, chopped mushrooms, soda crackers and spices and discover tasty meatballs that can be served simply with store-bought gravy for a dinner that's ready in no time!

  • Ingredients

    • 2 tbsp butter
    • ½ cup green onion, finely chopped
    • ½ cup very finely chopped mushrooms
    • 1½ lbs ground pork
    • 1 cup soda cracker crumbs
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 tbsp spices: ¼ tbsp garlic powder and ¾ tbsp dried basil
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 liter of brown sauce
  • Preparation

    1. Preheat oven to 375F.
    2. In a large bowl, mix all the meatball ingredients except the fat. Shape into meatballs about 2 tbsp. in size. Set aside.
    3. In a deep ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat, heat the fat and brown the meatballs for 3 minutes, turning them regularly.
    4. Add the sauce and mix well.
    5. Bake for 30 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
    6. Feel free to adjust the texture of the meatballs with eggs if your preparation is too dry and by adding breadcrumbs if your preparation is too moist.
