Dates stuffed with walnuts and bacon
Ingredients
- 24 fresh pitted Medjool dates
- 125 ml (½ cup) mixed nuts, chopped
- 125 ml (½ cup) crumbled cooked bacon
- 60 ml (¼ cup) honey
Preparation
- Split the dates in half to form a pouch.
- In a bowl, combine the walnuts, bacon and honey.
- Stuff the dates with this mixture.
- Heat in the oven at 375F for 10 minutes before serving.
For adventurers
Replace the bacon with crumbled blue cheese.
Tip “ready to receive”
This recipe can go straight from the freezer to the oven. Place the stuffed dates on a baking sheet and warm in the oven at 350F for 15 minutes or until the dates are warmed through.
