Smoked Meat Style Bread Crumbs

Love traditional smoked meat, but want to change up your traditional recipe a bit? Try this dish made with the same tasty smoked meat and your usual rye bread, and add cream and Swiss cheese for even more flavor!

  • Ingredients

    • 250 ml (1 cup) 15% cooking cream
    • 15 ml (1 tbsp) Dijon mustard
    • 4 eggs
    • Salt and pepper from the mill to taste
    • 1500 ml (6 cups) coarsely torn rye bread
    • 500 ml (2 cups) grated Swiss cheese
    • ½ lb (250g) coarsely chopped smoked meat
  • Preparation

    1. Preheat oven to 375F.
    2. In a large bowl, mix the cream, Dijon mustard and eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Add the bread, mix well to soak all the bread cubes.
    3. Add cheese and meat and press into a non-stick rectangular pan.
    4. Bake for about 40 minutes or until center is cooked through.
