Taking a break from screens is a healthy habit to adopt, both for children and parents. Why not replace your screen time with a family activity that will get you moving? Take advantage of it to discover new neighborhoods, new trails and invite your neighbors to join you!
Here are some easy activities to organize with family or your neighbors, which require very little preparation and materials in order to leave plenty of room for fun :
- Visit a park in another neighborhood
- Collecting leaves on the ground
- Go for a walk near a stream
- Organize a family tournament: soccer, baseball, tennis, etc.
- Playing the tourist in your own city
- Go and enjoy the free swim at the municipal swimming pool
- Go get the mail on foot
- Gather the neighbors together for a team sport: hockey, badminton, basketball, etc.
- Go hiking in the forest
- Organize a relay race
- Playing board games and doing jumping jacks every time you win
- Grocery shopping on foot
- Go skating at the city arena
- Organize a team treasure hunt
